Trump revokes Biden executive order on addressing AI risks

“U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday revoked a 2023 executive order signed by Joe Biden that sought to reduce the risks that artificial intelligence poses to consumers, workers and national security.Biden’s order required developers of AI systems that pose risks to U.S. national security, the economy, public health or safety to share the results of safety tests with the U.S. government, in line with the Defense Production Act, before they were released to the public.The order also directed agencies to set standards for that testing and address related chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and cybersecurity risks. Biden’s order came as U.S. lawmakers have failed to pass legislation setting guardrails for AI development.”

“…la pseudonymisation des données et la certification de Microsoft comme HDS (Hébergeur de données de santé), rendant obligatoires les audits réguliers.Insuffisant pour Clever Cloud : « il est de doctrine courante que la pseudonymisation des données n’apporte aucune garantie définitive quant à la protection des données personnelles, encore moins au regard des capacités de traitement des Intelligences Artificielles qui facilitent considérablement la réidentification ».Quant aux audits liés à l’accréditation HDS, ils « n’apportent aucune garantie supplémentaire face à des demandes d’accès extrajuridictionelles émises en particulier par la NSA et dont la spécificité est justement d’être couvertes par le secret ». Clever Cloud note également qu’aucune de ces justifications n’entre dans le cadre du RGPD.”

Ou encore qu’une société d’intelligence économique caviarde des dizaines de pages.Le cabinet de Patrick Hetzel a voulu faire de même, révèle notre confrère de l’Express, Victor Garcia. Il a remonté les traces d’un compte utilisateur de Wikipédia nommé Sj87420, créé vendredi 27 septembre (soit trois jours après la nomination de Patrick Hetzel) et ayant immédiatement multiplié les modifications sur la page Wikipédia de Patrick Hetzel.”

EDPB Urgent Binding Decision on processing of personal data for behavioural advertising by Meta | European Data Protection Board

“On 27 October, the European Data Protection Board adopted an urgent binding decision instructing the Irish (IE) DPA as lead supervisory authority (LSA) to take, within two weeks, final measures regarding Meta Ireland Limited (Meta IE) and to impose a ban on the processing of personal data for behavioural advertising on the legal bases of contract and legitimate interest across the entire European Economic Area (EEA). The urgent binding decision followed a request from the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (NO DPA) to take final measures in this matter that would have effect in the entire European Economic Area (EEA).”

He expressed doubt in Mr. Altman’s prediction that new jobs will replace those killed off by A.I. “We have unprecedented opportunities here but we are also facing a perfect storm of corporate irresponsibility, widespread deployment, lack of adequate regulation and inherent unreliability,” Dr. Marcus said. Tech companies have argued that Congress should be careful with any broad rules that lump different kinds of A.I. together. In Tuesday’s hearing, Ms. Montgomery of IBM called for an A.I. law that is similar to Europe’s proposed regulations, which outlines various levels of risk. She called for rules that focus on specific uses, not regulating the technology itself.”
