Google has started to increase the fees that it charges for the use of Google Maps, presenting concerns about whether it might raise prices further in future.As Uber prepares to spend $500m on its mapping ambitions, the programme follows earlier investments in mapping that include the acquisition of an imagery collection team from Microsoft’s Bing last June. Last year Uber also acquired deCarta, a mapping company that developed the turn-by-turn directions behind GM’s OnStar software.

ML Control On/Off

Our machine learning system was able to consistently achieve a 40 percent reduction in the amount of energy used for cooling, which equates to a 15 percent reduction in overall PUE overhead after accounting for electrical losses and other non-cooling inefficiencies. It also produced the lowest PUE the site had ever seen.

We worked with a team of medical doctors to carefully review the individual symptom information, and experts at Harvard Medical School and Mayo Clinic evaluated related conditions for a representative sample of searches to help improve the lists we show.
