“Federal prosecutors have charged three men and a woman with sex trafficking charges for operating the popular porn site GirlsDoPorn. At least 22 women featured on the site have sued the site’s owners, charging that the pornographers used lies and coercion to gain their participation. The 22 women said they responded to ads for clothed modeling gigs. When they were asked to shoot porn instead, they initially resisted. But they went along with it after the company assured them that their videos would only be sold on DVD to customers outside the United States and would not be posted online. That turned out to be a lie, as their videos wound up on GirlsDoPorn, a website with plenty of American viewers.”

“A former Yahoo software engineer has pleaded guilty to improperly accessing the accounts of around 6,000 Yahoo users in search of nude photos and videos. The news, outlined in a press release from the US Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of California, says programmer Reyes Daniel Ruiz used his privileges at Yahoo to crack user passwords and access the accounts of primarily younger women, including friends and co-workers.”

Google ne veut pas payer pour le droit voisin créé pour la presse par la directive européenne sur le droit d’auteur, adoptée le 26 mars. Alors que la France a été le premier pays à transposer ce texte, dès le 23 juillet, le leader de la recherche en ligne a annoncé, mercredi 25 septembre, qu’il changeait les règles d’affichage de ses services : par défaut, les pages ne montreront désormais plus d’extraits d’articles ou de photos miniatures, mais seulement les titres et les liens (adresse URL), sauf si les éditeurs donnent leur autorisation. La mesure sera effective « quand la loi entrera en vigueur », à savoir dans les prochaines semaines. Google Actualités est concerné, mais aussi le moteur Google.fr, pour les recherches « liées à l’actualité ». ”

Do you talk about ‘I’ or ‘We.’ What is the word choice or sentence length? In doctors, you might expect a good one to use more technical language,” he said. “Then we look at the tone of voice. If someone speaks really slowly, you are probably not going to stay on the phone to buy something from them. If someone speaks at 400 words a minute, people are not going to understand them. Empathy is a piece of that.” The company says the tecnology is different to facial recognition and instead analyses expressions. Facial expressions assessed by the algorithms include brow furrowing, brow raising, eye widening or closing, lip tightening, chin raising and smiling, which are important in sales or other public-facing jobs.”
